Admission

To be accepted to study at IM, applicants must meet the following requirements.

Examination-Exemption Applicants

Examination-Exemption Applicants should be this year's graduates in Information Management and Information System, Library Science, Editing and Publishing Science, or other related field. Peking University students should be in the first 50% of all the students who are qualified for examination-exemption. Applicants from other universities should rank among the top three in his or her major. We also required all the applicants to pass CET-6 and obtain a certificate. After qualification examination, eligible applicants can get in to the retrial which includes written examination and face-to-face interview in September or October of the year before entry. Successfully candidates in the examination and interviews will be accepted into our master programs.

Entrance Examination Applicants

Entrance Examination Applicants should hold or expect to receive a bachelor's degree, or for equivalent degree holders. After passing Peking University's postgraduate admissions examinations, eligible applicants will be invited for a face-to-face interview in March or April. Successfully candidates in the examination and interviews will be accepted into our master programs.

International students

International students have the following options of study at Peking University:

Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health, with valid passport, above the age of 18, and should abide by Chinese law and the regulations of Peking University. They should also respect Chinese social customs.
