Institute for Information Dissemination

As the predecessor of the current institute, the Institute for Documentation and Information was founded in April, 1996. To adapt to the development of the subject and meet the needs of expanding academic exchanges, the institute was renamed Institute for Information Dissemination in April, 1999.

The mission of the Institute for Information Dissemination is:

  • To conduct practical countermeasures research on the important theories and practical problems in the related fields;
  • To promote the development of academic activities and organization of this department;
  • To help this department expand the cooperation and exchange with academic institutions at home and abroad;
  • To provide this department with services and decision-making reference on the discipline construction, the teaching reform, the subject implementation, the scientific research to tackle a key project, and the application of scientific achievements.

The institute relies on the research strength of the Department of Information Management to organize and carry out research projects. And the institute builds a platform of the scientific cooperation for teachers and students. At present, the main task of the institute is compiling the “Chinese Library Yearbook”, which is entrusted by the Library Society of China.
